NOW ENROLLING FOR 2025-26 School Year!!!

Ms. Mya Johnson

High School Science

Hello everyone,

I’m thrilled to embark on this new school year with all of you! This will be my third year teaching, and I couldn’t be more excited about the adventures ahead. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Biology and Mathematical Sciences, which has given me a solid foundation and a deep passion for both subjects.

In my first two years of teaching, I focused on math, but my love for biology and science has always been a driving force in my life. Additionally, I have a keen interest in photography, art, and drawing, and I am eager to bring these creative elements into our classroom.

I believe that hands-on activities and experiments are the heart of learning, and I can’t wait to dive into labs and interactive projects with you all. Whether we’re conducting exciting experiments, creating intricate drawings, or working on innovative science projects, I am here to support and inspire your creativity.

Let’s make this year a memorable and engaging journey of discovery and learning!

I love science and math, and art. I love how these three disciplines come together to tell a complete story. In the classroom, I encourage students to see the artistic side of math and science, whether it’s through creating geometric designs, exploring the symmetry in nature, or capturing the wonders of science through photography. For me, the intersection of these subjects is where true creativity happens. It’s where logic meets imagination, and where the beauty of the world can be both understood and appreciated.

Whether I’m teaching, creating, or exploring new ideas, my passion for math, science, and art continues to inspire me. I strive to share this passion with my students and encourage them to see how these fields are not just separate subjects, but interconnected parts of the world we live in.

Welcome to my photography page! While my primary role is teaching science, photography has always been my passion. To me, photography is a perfect blend of creativity and observation—two qualities that are essential in both science and art. It’s about capturing moments, telling stories, and discovering the beauty that surrounds us.

In my science classroom, I encourage students to see the world not just through textbooks and experiments, but through the lens of a camera as well. Photography helps us observe the world more closely, whether it’s the intricate details of a plant cell or the stunning landscapes of nature. It’s a powerful way to connect with both the natural world and the creative process.
In addition to my work in the classroom, I also offer personalized photo shoots, including headshots, action shots, sports graduation pictures, and athletic team photos. Whether you’re looking to capture a special moment or need professional photos for your portfolio, I’m here to help you create stunning images that tell your unique story.
